Our History vision
A Willow Bank Infants historian will be able to use historical enquiry to understand the history of their school, the local area: Woodley, the UK and the world.
History provokes questions and provides answers about the past and why the world is the way it is. Children are encouraged to develop a strong understanding and knowledge of people and places of the past. The history curriculum at our school enables children to develop knowledge and skills that are transferable to other curriculum areas.
As pupils progress through the school, their growing knowledge about the past helps children to deepen their understanding of working historically, for example by evaluating primary and secondary sources. Children will also be supported to develop chronological awareness, being able to discuss key events within and beyond the children's living memory.
